Workforce Development

Dallas Leadership Foundation (DLF) refuses to stand back and accept  hard-working families or individuals living at or below the poverty line while working a full-time job. Working in high poverty communities for the last 25 years, DLF helps neighborhoods reach economic stability through financial aid, affordable housing, and access to better paying jobs.

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be 18–55 and live in Dallas or Dallas County
  • Must have a State ID or Driver’s License with Real ID logo
  • High school diploma/GED (no Bachelors’ Degree)
  • No previous NCCER training program within past year
  • Open to individuals with or without a criminal background
  • TDCJ within past 3 years (Provide TDCJ Release Certificate)
  • Attend all classes: 8-Week Course, Monday-Friday, 7:30 am to 4 pm








The Workforce Development program provides a job readiness curriculum created for reentry individuals, at-risk youth, and lower income neighborhoods who lack the skills and education to thrive in today’s workforce. They are taught soft-skills including working with diversity, time management, being a team player, and conflict management. They receive job training through partner organizations in IT, warehouse logistics, insurance, HVAC, construction, and more.
